Requirements to Become an Airline Pilot
To become an airline pilot, you must attend a training course at an Approved Training Organisation (ATO), which is an aviation school authorized by the Ente Nazionale per l’Aviazione Civile (ENAC) to offer ATPL courses in Italy.
At an airline pilot school, you can obtain all the licenses and qualifications necessary to be hired by an airline and become an airline pilot.
To begin a modular ATPL training course, the following requirements must be met:
- You must be at least 16 years old to begin your training.
- Have obtained 1st Class Medical Fitness as prescribed by European regulations.
Difference Between Modular ATPL Course and Integrated ATPL Course

The modular course provides greater flexibility to accommodate the individual needs of each cadet.
The integrated course, on the other hand, combines all the knowledge into a single intensive program. However, it must be completed within 24 to 36 months, and if the course is interrupted, no license is granted.

L’ATPL Frozen è il corso Easa ATPL teorico. Per ottenere l’ATPL Frozen è necessario superare tutte le materie di esame ATPL nelle sessioni organizzate dall’Autorità Aeronautica. Come vedremo più avanti, le materie per l’esame ATPL teorico sono 13.
La normativa europea (EASA) permette di iniziare a lavorare per una compagnia aerea con la licenza CPL (Commercial Pilot Licence) e l’ATPL Frozen.

Il corso teorico di pilota di aereo di linea (ATPL Frozen) organizzato da Asteraviation è flessibile e viene adattato alle disponibilità del cadetto con programmi costruiti appositamente per studenti, per neo-diplomati e per lavoratori.

There are 13 ATPL subjects in the theory course:
Air Law, Aircraft General Knowledge -Airframe, Systems, Powerplant, Aircraft General Knowledge -Instrumentation, Mass and Balance, Performance, Flight Planning and Monitoring, Human Performance and Limitations, Meteorology, General Navigation, Radio Navigation, OperationalProcedures, Principles of Flight, Communications.
The candidate can only take the exam after passing the ATPL pre-test at the academy with a score of at least 85%. The preparation provided by Asteraviation is based on constant practice tests drawn from an official ATPL database which is regularly updated.
The cadet must take and pass all the exams for all subjects within a period of 18 months, calculated from the end of the month in which the first exam session is held.
