OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE
The aim of the course is to train pilots to operate as flight instructors for the achievement of the IR(A) SEP.
Pre-requisites for admission
Applicants applying for admission to the IRI (A) course must meet the following requirements:
- hold a valid CPL (A) IR (A) licence;
- have completed at least 800 hours of IFR flight, 400 of which may have been performed on aeroplanes.
or
- hold a valid CPL (A) IR (A) licence;
- hold a valid FI(A) rating;
- have completed at least 200 hours of IFR flight time.
Course structure
The IRI course normally takes about 30 days, but may vary in length depending on the candidate’s needs.
Structure and duration of the course
The course is structured in two parts:
Theoretical course: The course is developed in 35 hours of theory lessons (10 hours for holders of Habilitation FI).
Practical course: The practical course includes 10 hours of flight training (a part of the course is carried out in the flight simulator). FI holders are entitled to a 5-hour reduction in practical training.
